Experience in Integrative Health and Healing

I'm Dana Monday, born and raised in a suburb of Chicago. A decade after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, I embarked on a journey of learning and growth that led me to the University of Minnesota, where I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice in Integrative Health and Healing. However, my journey as a mental health educator and practitioner started later in Hawaii.

Moving to Hawaii

In 2008, I found my way to the breathtaking shores of Hawaii, which I've been fortunate to call home ever since. Many of my professional dreams came true when I was so fortunate as to become one of the few integrative nurses employed by a hospital system in the country. In this role, I provided integrative therapies like guided meditation, aromatherapy, energy therapy, wellness coaching and massage for the patients at the Queen’s Medical Center for over 12 years. It was here that I found my passion for tending to the mental health needs of my community. So often, my patients desperately needed to be heard, seen, and believed in their experiences. I humbly learned that my presence and attention were often a refreshing catalyst for healing. My journey to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner is rooted deeply in my own history as well as my desire to be of the most benefit to my clients. For the past two years, I've served as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, building upon this rich foundation of care and compassion.

Extensive Career

I have been a nurse for over 20 years, serving in a wide variety of roles and settings. I have also been a Reiki Master and licensed massage therapist for nearly 25 years. As a proud member of the American Psychiatric Nurses' Association, I am deeply committed to advancing the field of mental health care. Additionally, I have the privilege of serving as an assistant professor in the psychiatric nurse practitioner program at Chaminade University, where I have the opportunity to inspire and mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals.

It's been an incredible journey, and I'm grateful for every step along the way
